National Vision and Strategic Partnership

The Edunet Foundation contributed to the Vigyan Jyoti program by developing and managing the central digital platform that powered this large-scale initiative. Instead of traditional, in-person-only delivery, this singular platform was critical for communication, session scheduling, progress tracking, and fostering collaboration through dedicated forums for project discussions. This digital approach enabled a structured and accessible implementation of the program’s complex, nationwide activities.

The Vigyaan Jyoti learning experience

The program brings its vision to life through a diverse and impactful range of immersive activities designed to spark curiosity and provide real-world exposure. The structured intervention includes hands-on science camps, special lectures, and interactions with role models from STEM fields. To bridge the gap between classroom theory and cutting-edge application, students participate in tinkering activities, exhibitions, and Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) workshops. A cornerstone of the experience is organized visits to premier Knowledge Partner institutes, including various IITs, IISERs, NITs, and national laboratories under CSIR, DST, and other research bodies, providing invaluable insight into scientific careers and higher education pathways.

Our Impact and legacy

The Vigyan Jyoti program achieved significant scale and demonstrable impact during its operation. By fostering curiosity and confidence, it directly engaged over 102,000 girl students across the country. The program’s extensive activities included more than 1,190 role-model interactions, 630 science camps, and 1,280 counselling sessions, creating a vibrant community of young learners passionate about STEM. Its success in reaching underserved regions and its model of early intervention contributed to its legacy, with key components being integrated into the consolidated Vigyan Dhara umbrella scheme in 2025, ensuring its foundational work continues to influence national efforts toward gender equity in science.
